What’s Vote Local Day?

Vote Local Day is a nonpartisan free virtual event giving you information, knowledge, and tools, so you can make informed decisions that positively impact your community and be ready to vote in local races this November.

  • Over the course of the day, local leaders and change makers shared stories of progress in their communities.

  • Short conversations & trainings explored the intersections of local elected leaders' jobs, issues like reproductive justice & voting access, and how we can, collectively, shape the communities and democracy we want to be a part of.

Why Vote Local Day?

  • 4 in 10 say not knowing the role of Secretary of State or State Attorney General prevents them from voting

  • 33% admit to guessing at random when voting on down-ballot races

  • 36% say they have left the bottom portion of their ballot blank when voting

  • 99% of elections this year are state & local positions

We believe every person deserves to know the role their Secretary of State plays in determining where we vote, the Mayor & City Council's responsibility to protect abortion access, and why prosecutors’ jobs determine how criminal cases begin and end.

In order for democracy to work, we have to know how and who makes it work.

That is why Vote Local Day exists.
